Our Prayer

This touches my heart.
Whomever you worship, whatever your faith, take a moment to listen...
The Prayer
I pray you'll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
I pray we'll find your light
And hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night
Remind us where you are
Let this be our prayer
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
We ask that life be kind
And watch us
from above
We hope each soul will find
Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Needs to find a place
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Almond Poppyseed Bread

Almond Poppy Seed Bread

This is one of our ALL TIME FAVORITE Breads here at the Cottonwood House.
When we owned our shop in Minnesota, my AMAZING FRIEND, Joan Stanly would bake this Bread for our Shop!
People would line up and wait for the Bread to arrive!
I would always save two loaves for my family, our eight children would fight over every last crumb!
LOVE YOU JOAN!

Almond Poppy Seed Bread
Bread:
3 eggs
1 1/8 Cooking Oil
2 1/4 Cup Sugar
3 Tablespoons Poppy Seeds
3 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cup Milk
1 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Tablespoon Almond Flavoring
Glaze:
1/2 Cup Orange Juice
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Butter Melted
1/2 Teaspoon Almond Flavoring

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F.
Beat eggs, oil and sugar together.  Combine the salt and poppy seeds.
Add to sugar mixture.  Add flour, baking powder and milk.
Stir in vanilla and almond flavorings.  Pour into bread pans.
Bake one hour.  Score top and edge with knife.  Pour glaze over all.  Allow to cool.
